About the Firm

Herbert Glassberg, LPA, PCToday, Roy F. Glassberg, CPA, PA serves the tax and accounting needs of hundreds of business and individual clients, many of them second and third generation, from their offices in Florida.

It is a true testament to this firm that more than half of their clients have been with the firm for more than 25 years. One of the secrets to the firm’s success is that every team member is really good at listening to clients and calming their anxieties about their financial and tax issues, and providing a solution that meets their needs.

The firm’s story starts with a determined young man in the Bronx in the 1950s. A first generation U.S. citizen, Herbert Glassberg was the first in his family to graduate college while working and going to school at night. He earned his accounting degree from Pace College in New York in 1958.

He opened his accounting firm, Herbert Glassberg, LPA, PC, in Spring Valley, NY and was an LPA, Licensed Public Accountant, the predecessor to the CPA designation. Some fun early facts about the firm:

1961: Opened doors and first client was Betty’s Dress Shop.
1973: First computer purchased from the same company that made Singer Sewing Machines. Computer nicknamed FRED for Foolish, Ridiculous Electronic Device.
1977: Second office opened in Fishkill, NY
1997: Opened office in Boca Raton, FL
2011: Firm celebrated 50th anniversary
